Queen Marinette Award

The Women’s Giving Circle, a committee of the M&M Area Community Foundation (MMACF), is seeking nominations for its 7th annual Queen Marinette Award.  The honor is named for Marie Antoinette Chevalier who became known as Queen Marinette.  Queen Marinette started a trading post near the mouth of the Menominee River.  It flourished and grew into the area now occupied by the cities of Menominee and Marinette.

The award recognizes women who work towards creating a positive impact on the lives of women and girls by helping them achieve their personal and professional goals.  Nominees must live, work or volunteer in the Community Foundation’s service area of Marinette and Menominee Counties.  Members of the Women’s Giving Circle Steering Committee and Grant Committee are not eligible for nomination.

The Queen Marinette Award, always a surprise, will be presented at the Women’s Giving Circle Grant Presentation Ceremony on Tuesday, September 22nd.

Nominations will be accepted until noon on Tuesday, September 1st.
