The M&M Area Community Foundation has been a trusted steward of local philanthropy for more than 30 years. Founded on the belief that organized, community-led giving could create lasting change in Marinette and Menominee Counties, MMACF has grown from a modest beginning into a permanent charitable resource for the people, organizations, and causes that make this region home.

Over three decades, we have partnered with donors of all backgrounds — individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofits — to connect generosity with opportunity. We have awarded grants, administered scholarships, supported nonprofit capacity, and helped donors carry their values forward through thoughtful estate and legacy planning.

What has not changed is our commitment to this place and the people in it. Marinette and Menominee Counties are not just our service area — they are our home. And every fund we steward, every grant we award, and every relationship we build is an investment in a stronger, more connected community.

The M&M Area Community Foundation is a Certified Community Foundation, having earned accreditation through the Community Foundations National Standards program — the highest mark of operational excellence, accountability, and integrity in the community foundation field.

National Standards certification is not automatic. It requires a rigorous, peer-reviewed evaluation of a foundation’s policies, practices, and governance across six core areas: mission and structure, resource development, stewardship and accountability, grantmaking, community leadership, and donor relations. Fewer than half of all community foundations in the United States have achieved this distinction.

For donors, advisors, and community partners, this certification is a signal that MMACF operates with the professionalism, transparency, and rigor that responsible philanthropy demands.

MMACF maintains a Platinum-level Candid profile — the highest transparency rating awarded by Candid (formerly GuideStar). Platinum status recognizes organizations that go beyond basic IRS reporting to share in-depth information about their programs, financials, leadership, and results.
