Financials & Investments
Every fund entrusted to MMACF is managed with care, invested strategically, and reported on transparently — so donors and community partners can be confident their generosity is being put to work with integrity
A Long-Term Approach to Stewardship
As a public trust, the M&M Area Community Foundation is committed to being a responsible steward of every charitable gift entrusted to our care. Our investment strategy is guided by a long-term perspective — one that balances the need to grow assets over time with the responsibility to preserve principal and maintain consistent support for grantmaking year after year.
Our investment portfolio is managed in accordance with a formal Investment Policy Statement, developed and maintained by our Investment Committee and updated regularly to reflect current market conditions and community needs. Funds are invested in a diversified mix of equity and fixed income assets, designed to generate sustainable long-term returns while managing risk appropriately.
Our spending policy is structured to ensure that charitable funds — and the impact they generate — endure for generations. By balancing current distributions with long-term growth, MMACF ensures that today’s generosity continues to benefit our community long into the future.

How We Oversee Our Investments
MMACF maintains a multi-tiered system of oversight to ensure the responsible management of our investment portfolio. This structure provides accountability at every level and ensures that investment decisions are made with the long-term interests of donors and the community in mind.
Board of Directors
The MMACF Board of Directors holds ultimate fiduciary responsibility for the Foundation’s assets. The Board approves the Investment Policy Statement, sets the overall strategic direction for the investment program, and provides ongoing oversight of investment performance and management.
Investment Committee
The Investment Committee is a standing committee of the Board responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Foundation’s investment portfolio. The Committee meets regularly with our investment manager, reviews performance reports, monitors adherence to the Investment Policy Statement, and makes recommendations to the Board on investment-related matters.
Investment Counsel
Woodmont Investment Counsel serves as MMACF’s professional investment manager, responsible for the active management of the Foundation’s portfolio. Woodmont participates in all Investment Committee meetings, provides regular performance reporting, and works as an extension of MMACF’s operations to ensure the portfolio is managed in alignment with our mission and investment objectives.
Our Investment Manager:
