Marinette, WI / Menominee, MI – November 11, 2025 — The M&M Area Community Foundation (MMACF) is inviting local high school students to apply for a unique leadership opportunity — to serve as the Youth Board Member on the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
This year, MMACF will welcome two high school students from Marinette or Menominee County to represent the voice of local youth in guiding the Foundation’s community impact. The Youth Board Member plays an important role in sharing the perspectives of young people, participating in grantmaking discussions, and helping shape the Foundation’s efforts to strengthen the region.
“We believe young people aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow—they’re leaders right now,” said Ashley Berken, Executive Director of the M&M Area Community Foundation. “This position gives local students a direct voice in philanthropy and community decision-making, while helping them grow their leadership and civic engagement skills.”
The Youth Board Member will:
- Attend regular MMACF Board meetings
- Participate in volunteer service projects (approximately 10 hours per year)
- Engage with the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)
- Represent youth perspectives on community priorities and needs
The opportunity is open to current high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who live in or attend school within Marinette or Menominee County. Students interested in applying should complete the online application form available at:
