MENOMINEE, MI – Students at Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine School District have expanded opportunities to stay active following their selection to receive a $2,520 grant from the M&M Area Community Foundation’s (MMACF) Philanthropy Fund. The award will be used to purchase 17 bicycles for the physical education department.
The announcement was made Wednesday afternoon at a school staff meeting. Paula Gruszynski, MMACF Executive Director, attended the meeting to present the grant check. Joining her was Julie Bieber, MMACF Grant Committee member and Vice President of Bellin Health Oconto Hospital. Julie surprised physical education instructor Steve Sigmund with bicycle helmets on behalf of Bellin Health.
“Bellin Health is thrilled to play a role in the Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine School District’s pursuit of a healthier lifestyle,” Bieber said. “We applaud their initiative and look forward to following their journey of wellness through cycling.”
