Now is the perfect time to learn about the “Future Fund” children’s savings accounts, a vital tool for supporting students, raising post-secondary education aspirations, and strengthening the future of Marinette and Menominee Counties.  September is College Savings Month, a month dedicated to inspiring communities across the country to save for children’s futures – for any form of post-secondary education.  The M&M Area Community Foundation is leading the way on inspiring area students!

Starting with the 2019 – 2020 school year, kindergarten students across Marinette and Menominee Counties had a $50 deposit-only Future Fund savings account established for them by the Community Foundation.  The Future Fund provides an opportunity for every child to feel valued, expand their financial literacy skills, and imagine what tomorrow will bring when the time comes to consider their future beyond high school.  Future Fund accounts grow by additional deposits from the Community Foundation during every year of students’ K-12 career.

“When we launched our Future Fund children’s savings account program, we were just the 66th program in the entire country!  That is a clear indication of the Foundation’s Board of Directors’ strong belief in our two-county service area and our desire to provide leadership,” stated Jackie Kamps, MMACF Board President

The Foundation continues to need community support to grow and expand the yearly incentives given to students.  For more information on how to give back to our communities via the Future Fund, please contact Paula Gruszynski at 906-864-3599.  Checks for this Fund may be mailed to the MMACF at 1110 10th Avenue, Suite L-1, Menominee, MI 49858 or made online at
